I’m delsi (they/them) — an award-recognised queer keynote speaker, educator, and consultant specialising in LGBTQIA+ inclusion. I support organisations to create safer, more inclusive environments through practical, evidence-informed, and human-centred approaches.

My work sits at the intersection of inclusion, wellbeing, and organisational culture. I’m known for delivering speaking and training that is warm, engaging, and grounded in real-world practice - helping organisations feel empowered to move beyond good intentions and into meaningful, lasting action.

Experience & approach

I bring over 15+ years of experience across education, community leadership, and organisational change. I’m a qualified secondary school and adult education teacher and have extensive experience working directly with community through co-design projects, the development of my entirely queer grassroots organisation, and long-standing work across many LGBTQIA+ organisations in Victoria. I have worked extensively within the queer community and not-for-profit sector, supporting teams across corporate, council, and community organisations to build confidence, deepen understanding, and strengthen inclusive practice.

My approach is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and focused on clarity over jargon. I prioritise creating learning environments that feel safe, accessible, and genuinely useful - spaces where people feel comfortable asking questions, building skills, and leaving with practical tools they can apply immediately.

Recognition and media

My work has been recognised across media and community spaces, including featuring as a speaker in the SBS documentary from Jess Hill, Asking For It.

In 2019, I became the first Australian LGBTI person to successfully pursue legal action in response to anti-LGBTI online defamation. This experience continues to inform my work around safety, harm prevention, and the creation of supportive, accountable workplace cultures.

I was named in Google’s Top 50 LGBTI Leaders List in 2020 and have been a finalist for Victorian LGBTI Person of the Year three times between 2019 and 2025.

Leadership and community work

Alongside my speaking and consulting work, I’m the founder of Unicorns — a grassroots organisation creating queer-led creative and community experiences. Through this work, I’ve spent many years designing and delivering inclusive events, workshops, and spaces that centre joy, safety, and accessibility for LGBTQIA+ communities.

This leadership experience deeply informs my professional practice, grounding my work in lived experience, community care, and a strong understanding of the realities faced by LGBTQIA+ people in workplaces and public life.

Selected Projects

FEMME — Short Film

FEMME is a short film exploring queer femme identity, visibility, challenges and joys.

The film screened across festivals locally and internationally throughout 2023 and 2024 and reflects themes of representation and lived experience that inform my speaking and education work.

Being Valued — Workplace Gendered Violence Toolkit

Being Valued is a WorkSafe Victoria-funded project focused on reducing gendered violence against LGBTQIA+ people in workplaces.

As Project Manager and author, I led the development of a practical, evidence-informed toolkit designed to support safer workplace systems, policies, and responses. The project was informed by a survey of 300+ LGBTQIA+ Victorians about their experiences of workplace gendered violence, alongside a robust co-design process with community members and stakeholders.

This combination of lived experience data and co-design directly shaped both the toolkit and my ongoing workshops in this space - grounding them in real-world experiences, clear evidence, and practical strategies for prevention, response, and cultural change.
